My first posts were bare-bones attempts at work similar to Saskia Freeke’s work (which were a big inspiration for doing this project in the first place): variations of geometric shapes and colors on some sort of underlying grid or system.
These first few iterations are very basic, but helped me begin to feel out how to balance randomness with intent to get at something aesthetically pleasing.
Wallpapers
These wallpapers were generated from the same program that created the initial post. The program mixes predefined rules with controlled randomization so that each time it's run the output will be unique. Because of this, each wallpaper size is a variation instead of just a crop.
